Henry Ruggs attended Alabama University. He played for the incredible Nick Saban, who is the best college football coach in today's generation. Henry Ruggs was a stellar player at the University of Alabama where he put up crazy numbers. After a successful career Henry Ruggs had dreams to play one day in the NFL. Henry Ruggs the 3 was a first round NFL draft pick in the 2020 NFL draft. Henry Ruggs was the 12th overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft. Henry Ruggs was getting to a good start in his rookie year in the NFL, until he made a decision that would change his life forever. Henry Ruggs had gotten into a DUI, driving at the speed over 156mph. Henry Ruggs would then get into a car accident resulting in the killing of a girl in her 20s. This would also result in Henry Ruggs going to prison and getting released from the Las Vegas Raiders. Henry Ruggs survived the car crash even though he was driving at the speed of 156mph. Henry Ruggs was 2x over the BAC alcohol requirement. I don't agree with Henry Ruggs actions because driving while drunk or high is always a bad decision. When making the decision to drive drunk you are putting not only your life in danger but you are putting other people lives in danger also. It is smarter to have a designated driver or just call a uber to pick you up. Henry Rugg's life and image is changed forever although he was a good kid on and off the field. One bad decision can change your life from good to bad real quick. Henry Ruggs would also miss a required alcohol test while he has been on house arrest, so the judge ordered him to get that made up.

I remember hearing about this news and feeling so heartbroken. I can’t believe Ruggs would risk his entire career and his entire life just to drive intoxicated. I have never understood why people get behind the wheel after drinking nowadays because Uber and Lyft are so easy to use. I am heartbroken for the family of the woman who lost her life and I am curious to see what Ruggs’ final prison sentence will be.
I saw this and hate to see it. After all the work put in to make it as far as Ruggs did and then to make such an awful mistake. I think the bigger tragedy here is the girl who was hit, who hadn't done anything wrong and lost her life because of another's poor actions.
I remember hearing about this the morning after it happened and is such a tragedy. To see someone that has been given the privilege to play in the NFL and throw it away so quickly is awful. Sadly this shows that not a small minority of our professional athletes see themselves as if the are above society and can do whatever they want. Professional teams need to be more accountable of their individuals in the future.
This is truly heartbreaking news. It goes to show how a simple and momentary decision can impact both your life and so many other people's lives as well. While Henry Ruggs was making every right decision in the professional realm to advance him to the place where he wants to be, a wrongful decision made during his down time wiped all of that progress and glory away, leaving him with guilt bound to last a lifetime.
Clearly, Henry Ruggs made a decision that not only affected himself but many people. His choice to get into the car under the influence was a terrible choice that killed a poor girl who was a daughter. I agree with the fact that Ruggs went to prison and got kicked off the Las Vegas Raiders because he made a selfish decision that ultimately ruined his life. Since I do not know anything about sports reading this post allowed me to learn something new. Good post.
